A permit must be obtained before commencement of any construction, demolition, modification or renovation of a building, structure, awning or canopy, unless this requirement is waived by the Building Official, except that the Building Official may not waive any required approvals by the Board of Architects. For interior alterations/renovations: Submit a completed Permit Application, a recorded Notice of Commencement (if work is over $2,500 in cost) and required documentation to the Permit Counter at the Development Services Department. For exterior alterations/renovations: Submit a completed Permit Application, a recorded Notice of Commencement (if work is over $2,500 in cost) a Board of Architects Application and required documentation to the Board of Architect's office at the Development Services Department. Note: The Board of Architects meets on Thursdays. (Application deadline is at 12 noon, the Friday prior to the meeting)
